My name is Ron Borrett and prior to starting the company 17 years ago, I worked in management for a plaster board manufacturer from where I was made redundant.

I had the carpets in my house cleaned by a company that distribute leaflets in the door offering 1/2 price special offer cleaning in my area for two weeks. My first thought was it would be cheaper for them to carry out the job than do it myself, by hiring a machine. The carpet cleaner turned up with a machine similar in size, to a machine I could have hired from the local dry cleaners, to carry out the work myself. After the lounge carpet was "cleaned", I realised that not only was the carpet left soaking wet, but there were also patches of carpet that had not been touched and were still dry.

The whole process from the van arriving, to him driving away again had taken 25 minutes. At that point I realised that there was an opening in the market for discerning customers, who would be happy to pay a higher, but still competitive price for a job that was unbeatable for quality, carried out by polite personel.
